Jay
Haviser, Jr., Ph.D. is an archaeolo-gist
who has conducted and participated in extensive archaeological work
in St.Martin. A well-published expert on ancient Amerindian archaeology,
the USA-born Dr. Haviser has served as vice president of the International
Association of Caribbean Archaeology (1993-1997), editorial review
board member of the Latin American Antiquity Journal, a member
of the Curacao Historical Society, Society of Africanist Archaeology,
and Society of Professional Archaeologists. Dr. Haviser is a graduate
of Florida State University, USA, and the Royal University of Leiden,
